Challenge

Located in the US, the client is one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world. Their needs focused on enhancing the system in manufacturing semiconductor chips with a trusted vendor who has a long-lasting experience in working with international clients and global projects. The challenge is to integrate ease and accountability into its production chain with modern technology to replace its existing outdated system.

The client’s demands are two-fold:

  • Financial project: Develop a Web app to support their Account Receivable procedures on their internal Cloud platform. Besides scalability and self-deployment, the new app also needed to include features such as invoice processing, customer communications, forecasting, evaluation, and dispute resolution.
  • Manufacturing project: Work closely with their in-house team to develop, upgrade and maintain the system, apps, and web apps that served semiconductor research and manufacturing purposes

Solution

Since the framework was agile development, team members needed to work in different time zones and every member must be able to use English fluently to ensure no obstacles happen when communicating with the customer. In this project, all applications must be developed under microservices models on IBM cloud, Kubernetes and Docker.

The CMC Global team worked in harmonious cooperation with other fellow teams to not only settle the best working hours for all sides but also pinpoint decisively the underlying business logic and use our problem-solving skills to tackle the issue.

Not stopping at IT outsourcing, CMC Global also came up with the idea of developing the app through microservices modules, which helped to modernize, automate, and utilize the customer’s cloud platform.

Result

The app is considered to have considerably high scalability and flexibility, easy and convenient to adjust. Similarly, the Testing/Deploying activities have also been automated through the CI/CD modules and can also be customized into different projects. One of the key highlights for this project is that our clients had received a Stevie Awards in 2019 for their sales enablement solution.

In terms of feedback, the clients reported a 100% customer satisfaction survey on our IT talents and their innovative services.
